Have you ever been to Vero Beach? It’s a quaint little beach town in Central/Southern Florida, about 1 1/2 hours North of where I live. Vero was the halfway point between Alex, a new model friend, and I. After shooting a bit on the beach, we made our way to the nearby Caribbean Boutique Hotel. That was an incredibly photogenic little spot, with ferns overhanging everywhere and rustic tiled stairs that made for perfect backdrops.
I used the Sigma 35mm for the most part of this shoot (I really love this thing). I also had a bit of a brain fart where my camera was accidentally set to one of the custom presets as opposed to Manual. This made the settings (ISO/Aperture/Shutter/WB) reset every few minutes, which caused a bit of frustration. The light fluctuated between being overcast and almost overwhelmingly bright, so making sure the photos had the same aesthetic was a bit of a challenge. If you’re ever in the Vero Beach area, be sure to check out the Caribbean Boutique Hotel and don’t take the public beaches for granted!
